We all like music! Here we can discuss our song preferences, why we chose them for our characters, if they mean anything to us, why we like the songs, ect.
This is not a 'you're music is crap and mine is pure gold wrapped up in the best thing you've ever heard!' bashing center. You're all allowed your opinions about music but everyone is different. Try to be polite about your conversations. I don't want to have to turn this board around
I'll start off with my selections;
Fireflies-- Owl City;
this one has been played a lot where I live, but I still love it. I'm generally not a fan of Owl City, but I love this one to death. I thought it would be a good one for Xara because it's so dream-like, and Xara sometimes feels like she's not living in reality (or acts like it XP)
Livin' On The Edge--- Aerosmith;
Aerosmith is awesome... ^_^' I couldn't find any of the other ones I like, and I would have used them for Rasha or Patrick, but this one is a cool one, even though it's more Country-like than Mow-Town / Bluesy like the others I tried to find. Unfortunately the quality isn't that great.
Hand In My Pocket--- Alanis Morissette;
Would I be Canadian if I didn't like Alanis Morissette? XP I like most of her songs, especially from her album 'Little Jagged Pill'. But would this one be more of a Tara song than a Xara song? Hm... I can't decide DX What do you guys think?
Many Shades Of Black--- The Raconteurs;
The Raconteurs are one of my favorite bands. I chose this one because it kind of reminded me of Xara and Edison ;D
Sleepy Maggie--- Ashley MacIsaac;
A nice, traditional Celtic tune. This one is in Scottish Gaelic. I'm not entirely sure what it means, but the translated lyrics depict a picture of some sort of harvest dance;
The black mill is moving around
The black mill is moving around
The black mill is moving around
And we expect to go dancing...
Salute Your Salution--- The Raconteurs;
My favorite part of this song is when it changes feel at;
And I got what I got all despite you,
and I get what I get just to spite you
It's one of my personal favorites. I love songs that suddenly change time, or feel. I especially love stop time, or half time. Oh! Or Grand Pauses!
Bamboleo--- Gypsy Kings;
I could see her dancing to this. It's in Spanish, and I looked up the English lyrics... it's kind of depressing. DX Here are the lyrics (click) let me know what you think about them!
Caravan--- unknown;
I was looking for a specific jazz arrangement of this that my boyfriends brass band did but I don't know where to find it. I'll ask him what the arrangement was, but for now here's this one. It's still pretty cool. I don't know why I thought of Xara when I heard it though. ^^'
Weapon Of Choice--- Fatboy Slim;
I re-discovered this song on my dads laptop and suddenly it's like my favorite thing to listen to. If I were going to put any meetings with Xara and Castor to music, this would be their theme song C:<
Blackbird--- The Beatles;
Ah the Beatles. They're a classic, aren't they? I could imagine this being Xara's favorite song. It's one of my favorites. We were going to do it for my high-school's vocal jazz choir, but it didn't come together so we cut it *sadness*
Thats it! If you have any Xara suggestions, let me know!
