PERSONALITY
*Description:
Rasha likes to think of himself as a sort of a lady killer. He is very charming and acts sort of like humans from old movies. He was taken by the ideology of chivalry, and has had heard Earthen women complain that men no longer practice it. He is a charmer, and loves to do nothing more than to make women swoon over the things he says. He does not do it to be called a player, or to get laid. He does it to see the light in their eyes and to see them smile. He likes to at least say something nice about them because, who knows? It might just make their day.
It is also a bit of a challenge. If there are those strong independent doesn't-need-a-man-to-make-her-feel-good-about-herself kind of women nearby he makes a beeline straight for them. Why can't a man make them feel good? Are men all that bad, really? Maybe men really need a woman to make them feel good about themselves. Perhaps women should try being chivalrous, or try being spontaneous and plan surprise dates for the men? If Rasha really were looking for a relationship, he would definitely treat it as a co-dependent situation. Why expect something from your partner that you would never do for them?
Unlike his sisters 'stab first ask later' policy, though Xara really does mean well, Rasha tends to try to take a diplomatic approach right off the bat. He does not enjoy violence or heated confrontation. He was taught to defend himself if he has to, or his family, but his sense of 'honor or death' is definitely subdued compared to Xara's.
Rasha's favorite activities include quiet evenings watching movies alone or with friends; strolling at twilight; going to work; carving; eating food; going dancing, and; street hockey.
His mental guards (see species creation for more info) are a young robust male musician, a warrior resembling Xara but who is blind with black hair torn ears, and a shaman like man who is calm but firm.
Habits: He likes to collect books about philosophy and science
Soft Spot: definitely Xara, and anyone she loves even if he doesn't particularly like them (eg. Edison)
Weak Spot: his cat Lily; if you threaten her, he would be like putty in the palm of your hand
Best Quality: patience
Worst Quality: he does everything humanly possible to avoid conflict, so he tends to let his problems fester
Biggest Vulnerability: people calling him a barbarian because of the culture he came from
Biggest Strength: his ability to adsorb information
Best Memory: his father teaching him how to carve
Darkest Secret: after a year of searching for his sister, he almost gave up, and slipped into a suicidal depression
*History:
Xara was born first, and Rasha second. They have one brother older, and one younger, than both of them placing them both effectively within the 'middle sibling' category. Rasha had always been Xara's favorite brother. They did everything together from the day he was born to the day Xara was abducted 57 earth years later.
Of course, boys will be boys on every planet and Rasha tortured his sister mercilessly about boys and tried to break into her room to take things that weren't his. He remembered getting his fluffy behind kicked over the time he took Xara's freshly sharpened sparring knife and blunted it by carving figurines out of a piece of wood he had found laying on the ground. Xara stood and watched as she made him resharpen it. It took hours! Even though he was upset with her for cutting into his day like that and making him sharpen it, he finally understood why she was so angry with him. Sharpening a blade was hard work! After that Rasha made sure only to take the blades she didn't use on a daily basis, so it lessened the chances of him getting caught.
Rasha's parents, like most parents, wanted everything for their children. Theirs had been a family of particular skill and respect in the tribe, and had produced many natural born leaders. Such as Xara. Rasha was always jealous of his big sisters achievements when he was younger. While he was still fumbling about with small weapons and sticks she was kicking ass left right and center. What did she have that he didn't?
During his teen years Rasha went through a period of completely loathing his sister. The more she accomplished the less he seemed to accomplish, and the less his parents seemed to notice him. So he would sneak out to carve. He became so good at carving and carpentry that he had created, unknowingly, countless works of art and created a story to go with each. He invented an instrument, which he played beautifully. He began to sing, and he sang as he carved, carving a story into each of his creations. Soon, after months of giving his poor confused sister the cold shoulder, he had gotten all of his frustrations out in his carvings. As an apology, he brought Xara a carving of her favorite folktale, which she hung in her 'room' right next to her nest so she would always see it.
But first his proud and, he thought, mildly embarrassing sister had to show the entire tribe what he'd done. He remembered digging his heels into the dirt as she dragged him with her and showed the elders, the families and the leaders. They were all very impressed and put Rasha to work immediately. He began teaching apprentices and they built things together people had never seen before. He soon had his own tree, a sign of owning your place within a tribe, and it was the most magnificent piece of art anyone had ever seen. All of this seemed ridiculous to Rasha. He never understood the praise and the wonder. But then again, he had to go through every small step and frustration to get there. 'Hard work and practice,' he told them, 'it's really not that difficult if you want to do it yourself.'
Things seemed to be going great for Rasha and his entire family; he had become a carpenter, his sister was lined up to be the next war leader, his two brothers were becoming masterful hunters...there was no other definition of a perfect family. However, soon the fecal matter collided with the bladed wind making machine, and Xara's mate was killed. Rasha was most upset; he wanted a little niece or nephew. Besides, Xara was upset. She moved in with Rasha and went into a depressed stupor. She went out in the night and he followed her every time. One night, something tragic happened. He watched in horror as his sister was abducted. The ship hovered where it was and strange beings came from it and took people from all different tribes away. Rasha ran for Xara but he was abducted as well.
He was crammed into a small cage for gods know how long with little edible food and something barely resembling water. He asked for Xara everyday, but the beings said nothing. Then one day they told him he was a slave. The explained what that meant, and where they were going. Rasha understood these things better than his sister. He believed there were other planets. He believed in science and theory, not just the things he saw and felt. He knew the aliens were telling the truth, and his little tender heart broke in two.
They landed three times with little issue, each time Rasha imagining Xara being taken away as a slave, and each time he asked for her. They did not respond. One day, bright lights and lots of noises. Rasha clung to his bars with the other slaves as they felt the ship plummet into the orbit of a strange planet. The aliens managed to land, but the landing was rough and many died. The only reason Rasha did not was because there were so many others in his cage, they absorbed the shock.
Rasha remembered calling for help and being rescued by monsters in masks and suits. They pulled him out and he woke the next day to a smiling old man. He dabbed his head in water and dressed his wounds. He communicated to Rasha with pictures and symbols. He understood, and he nodded gently. The man wanted to take him to some dwelling...a nest of sorts. His leader agreed to let the man adopt him.
Rasha went home with the man, not knowing the only reason he was allowed to leave with the scientist was because there were too many in the facility as it was, and the beings who were too injured or not of any use were to be euthanized like common barnyard dogs, something the scientist strongly opposed. The scientist and his only child lived alone. He explained his wife had died many years ago, when Rasha understood enough English. His daughter was to be a teacher when she graduated that year, and Rasha spent a good year being taught all there was to be taught about Earth and English.
During that year he fell in love with the scientists daughter. They had a bit of a fling, until her father found out. He was generally a good man, but the thought of an alien dating his only daughter appalled him and the man forced Rasha out of his house. Rasha got a job fairly easily with the skills the scientist and his daughter taught him. When he found out that people on Earth paid money for carvings, he began to sell them and he even made enough money to get a nice apartment and a rescued cat named Lily for a pet (he learned to communicate with it).
However, with his money and his new found skills, Rasha resumed his search for Xara. He knew there was a good chance she was dead, but he would still look. He would never stop looking.
SPECIES CREATION
*Species name: Volpe-Gente
*Class: alien
*Species appearance: the biggest physical differences between these aliens and humans are; webbed feet, partially prehensile tails, razor sharp teeth and tall wolf, fox or cat like ears.
*Powers and abilities:
The Volpe-Gente's powers and abilities are all mental based. They have a sort of mental connection that allows them to heal and communicate with other beings. Their brains are working 100% when they use these powers. Their 'links' range in powers from very weak which is used only for communication, to very strong which the person can almost completely inhabit someone else's body and take control of it.
They have mental guards, kind of like split personalities, deep within their brains that protect them from harm. These can be defeated easily if the subject is not proficient in their meditations and exercises.
Their powers can heal almost any wound to a point where it would no longer be life threatening, they can share memories and feelings, but the most common use is simply for socialization and communication.
*Weaknesses:
Over usage can result in severe injury or death
If someone is still linked to another person as they die not only does the person experience the death but the deceased's memories and even personality can reside within the living host for years, if not their entire life. This can cause insanity.
They can only link with people who are strong enough. Children and earthlings cannot handle an entire link.
If they do not meditate or do mental exercises, their powers will become uncontrollable and they will link with everything, which can cause insanity and shortly after, death.
Not being linked to anyone or anything for long periods of time is not as harmful, but can cause instability and pent up 'energy'. It is uncomfortable, and drastically changes the personality of the person affected. If not treated, in time this will also cause insanity. However, unlike the other examples, this can be cured.
*Origin:
This species originated in a solar system a couple hundred light-years away from the Andromed system Hadrian originated from. It is accessible through a series of worm holes and electrical bands that work as tunnels and shortcuts. However if not properly utilized, accidents like the slave ship happen and ships become broken and disoriented, and can sometimes be thrown into the gravitational pull of planets, such as Earth.
Rasha and Xara's planet has been named "V'heila Te", "Gu'trav" and "Kulyi", but it's most accepted and well known title by scientifically driven planets and civilizations from all sorts of universes, is "Qorix" (Kuh-ricks).
Rasha technically is 57 by earth years, but only 19 by his years. His species age a bit slower than earthlings. Once they get to about their mid 20's, the aging process almost comes to a standstill.
