[/center] [glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Candy knew that Xara was over-stressing about Sasha's tardiness. Her friend was young, boy crazy and in love. She was going to forget a few things here and there, such as what time her mother wanted her home. Candy's own mind was off with the fairies as she made her way down a narrow footpath which led down a backway creating a shortcut to Xara's home. The girls often took it on their way home from school, avoiding any unnecessary encounters with people they wouldn't want to bump into after hours; a.k.a school bullies. It was the most likely direction she suspected Sasha would be returning from. “Candy!” she called, “Oh! Oh, over here!” Candy heard Sasha before she saw her race around the corner, her ears and the hairs on her tail waving in the wind as she ran towards her. There was no playing a fair game of hide-and-seek with Sasha. Her nose was waaaaay too keen for that. Believe Candy, she'd tried disguising her scent many times; even going so far as hiding in Sasha's dogs' kennel once in an attempt to mask her smell. She wasn't proud of that move.
“I guess mom sent ya, huh?" Sasha asked, barely out of breath as she came to a halting stop in front of Candy, with what looked like a small box holding a cake in her hands. The blue-haired girl hardly flinched, only taking a step back to fall into place beside her friend as they began to dawdle their way back to the house.
"Yeah," She grinned as they sauntered. "You should see the house, it's full of people, it's amazing she can focus on one thought at once."
"Psh. She always forgets when she tells me to pick up stuff from the store. I mean, seriously. She needs to get laid or something—she’s been so tense!” Candy chuckled, knowing full well what her friend was talking about. Xara tend to freak out over the smallest things, anyway so she saw no point in mentioning hers and Xara's little spat at eachother earlier as an example.
“Anyway… you’ll never guess what happened today! Okay. So. We were like, playing this game… it was some weird game where you build a tower and then try to take it apart block by block… like, Jungle or something? I dunno." Jenga? "Anyway. So we were doing this, right, and I knocked the tower over by accident, and one of the pieces ended up flying all the way out the front door. It was incredible! A total like, ricochet things, like in those old terrible spy movies y’know where the guy’s all like “pschoo! Pew pew!” and the bullets bouncing off all the random shit and then the bad guy’s all like “Der… holy shit! Where did that bullet from, how does this even happen, what is going on, ah!” and the spy’s all like “hells fucking yeah I totally just did that, suck on that, bitches”. I love those movies…they are the best.”
Sasha's enthusiasm was one of Candy's favorite things about her, and since meeting Craven, it seemed she had boundless amounts of energy to spare. As they walked, Candy took note of things around her; a few gallahs were perched on some electrical wire, squawking and carrying on. Somewhere down the street, a dog was barking at something or other, and around them, Candy could smell the sweet scents of wild flowers growing around the fences of different properties they passed.
“But yeah,” Sasha continued after a very short pause. [/i]“It was totally a lot of fun. Oh!”[/i] Candy welcomed Sasha's hug with welcome arms, feeling more herself around her friend than anyone else. It seemed as though around Rasha all she did was blush, and when she was around Xara and Dylan, she was still at the stage where she was still a little reserved, and overly polite. When Xara's friends visited, she was courteous, and well-mannered. She would involve herself when she felt comfortable. But generally, didn't talk too much of herself. It wasn't till she was around Sasha did she really come out of her shell. Still, at the mention of going to the beach, Candy hesitated with the offer. Beach, sand, bikini's... not so much Candy's cup of tea. She could not even begin to imagine herself in a bathing suit. "You can't wear jeans at the beach, can you?" She asked, wryly. The movie actually sounded pretty appealing though. "Fineee," she mock-huffed, and grinned toothily at her friend. "I'll go, then sheesh. But only 'cause I can't resist those big puppy dog eyes of yours. What movie do you want to see? Oh!, I met your cousin at the park today!" Candy blushed, and grinned almost shyly. "Rasha. Do you remember him? Oh Sasha, he's so handsome! And sweet, and - " she took hold of the sun pendant which Rasha had made and held it out to her, practically beaming. "He gave me this! Isn't it beautiful?"Azure silently observed everything about her, from Xara's cousin's delight in being able to touch Tara's stomach and feel the little being living inside of her womb, to the scents of different foods that Dylan was currently preparing to cook into the evening meal. She could smell steak, and the blood which still resided on meat as he removed it from the glad wrapped packaging. She could smell spices, and she could smell vegetables, such as tomato, and broccoli. Since her transformation to vampirehood, Azure had found her sense of scent had strengthened. Azure could remember the tastes of certain foods, but she found since her transformation, she found all of it unappealing. “Xara, will you relax already?" Tara berated Xara lightly. Azure had picked up on her friends aggitation too. It seemed that everyone was a big high strung about something or another. "I’m sure she’s just fine. Candy’s right, she was probably just mackin’ on her new boy-toy. Can’t really blame them. I remember what it was like at that age…hell, I know what it’s like now.” Tara winked, slyly. “If you know what I mean.” A moment later Azure found herself witnessing a sudden flashback of last nights rather... raunchy events play through her mind as Tara sneakily, but briefly probed into her mind. Azure mock-gasped, smirked, and playfully nudged her fiance's shoulder with her own. 'Shh, Xara might see!' She chided her through their link, knowing that she rarely put up barriers to her link unless necessary (such in those cases she was thinking playful thoughts). Azure could remember a time, early on in their relationship when even while kissing they'd seemed almost shy towards one another. As the months went by they became bolder, but they hadn't even almost taken it to a serious level until that night Tara had accidently turned her. Since that night, they'd become more intimate, and less fearful now that Azure wasn't as fragile as a human. Also, with Tara being pregnant, Azure had taken full advantage of her intensified sex drive. With one particular memory in mind, Azure sneakily sent a little thought back at her fiance; a subtle hint for later. Tara's cousin spoke, seeming a little naive at first before he seemed to get the gist of what Tara had been saying. He at least knew she was making a subtle inuendo. So far Azure liked the guy. Though she knew that any friend of Xara's was also a friend of hers. As he'd put it perfectly, they were family. Each and every one of them, no matter whether they got along great, or only occasionally, they were each linked to eachother in some way or another; some deeper or more intimate than others. Azure really couldn't picture a more strange, disfunctional, yet perfect family. And soon enough, they'd have another member join them. Azure only wished their little miracle bundle of joy would hurry up. She held Tara's hand as they sat side-by-side, counting silently as her fiance's hand tightened grip every so often, and counting the length in between. It had become an almost automatic thing now, just counting the times her fiance would squeaze her hand. She had become so anxious about their baby's arival that she'd begun praying for a safe delivery, though she knew that ultimately, it was all in Tara's and Xara's hands, since she was the midwife. They could only hope that Dylan would be around too. He had shared their journey from the very start, it seemed only fair that he should be around for the labour too. “Hey Dylan!” Tara called to him from the couch. He peered around the corner, enough so they could see he was wearing a light blue apron with the words "kiss the chef" written in big letters on the front. Azure had to look away, just so she didn't snicker. “She’s kicking again. She likes to do that doesn’t she? Remember that time when she booted your hand? That was really funny. She kicked the little ultrasound wand.”"She's a strong one," He smiled fondly, yet almost a little shyly. "And a fighter too." Names had been something that both vampiress' had been considering for a little while but both had seemed to have come to a mutual decision on the name. Carmen, Azure thought, was a perfect name. It was of Hebrew, Latin and Spanish origin, and meant "song" "garden" and "red". One of the main reasons Azure thought it was perfect was because of the song part of it's meaning; she was a dancer after all. Dylan did not mind being involved in the conversation. He would introduce himself to Rasha soon enough, once the man wasn't so busy with the girls. Perhaps after Candy and Sasha got home. For now he seemed content enough in preparing their evening meal. Tonight it was decided they'd have steak, chips, roast chicken, roast potatos, a salad, and for desert they'd have apple pie with ice cream. He'd only juat resumed organising the roast chicken and potatos when he felt a set of warm, familiar arms wrap around him from behind, and a soft kiss on the side of his neck. “Do you need any help?” The uniquely accented lilt of Xara's voice always served to relax Dylan, and with her tail coiling around his upper thigh, he felt soothed by the gentle motions of her body leading his in a swaying motion. “It all smells very, very good.” As if on cue, he heard Xara's stomach growl. "No, no. It's fine," He crooned, turning away from the food as he wrapped his arms around Xara's waist in reassurance. He smiled at his mate, looking at her in earnest. "I'd rather see you catching up with your cousin."Kissing the top of her head, he rest his lips there for a moment as she asked him, “Dylan, have you thought about maybe having a baby one day? Yours, and mine?” The question was certainly unexpected. But not a difficult one to answer. "I'd love to," Dylan admitted in response, his grin widening. He still often finding himself surprised that Xara had fallen in love with him in the first place, let alone wanted to live with him, and now have a baby. Of course he wanted to have a baby with the woman he'd fallen in love with. He had wanted a child for a long time, but with his insecurities, he'd given up on trying to look for love without really trying. Xara just came into his life one day, and he was eternally grateful that she never left. He also knew of Xara's own anxieties about Sasha leabing them one day. Of course it was going to happen, but it liturally seemed like only yesterday she was a little girl. Now she had a boyfriend, and was growing into an inteligent, beautiful young lady. Dylan never got to experience the baby years, of toddler tantrums. He'd jumped right into raising a teenager. He wanted to know what it felt like being a father from scratch. “Sasha’s already talking about going away to university and leaving the house…” Even Xara's voice seemed to droop. “I don’t want her to go, but I mean… we have money, and a house…I’m not saying we should right now. But… I guess I was just wondering if you would consider having a baby with me.” She finished, her cheeks actually brightening into a shade of bright pink. She was blushing! "I'd love to have a baby with you! I want that very much!" He nodded vigerously, then actually picked her up, and swung her in a few circles in happiness. "I love you!" He exclaimed, and then kissed her full on the mouth.[/size] [glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Sasha knew her friend wouldn’t want to go to the beach with her prosthetics, and her insistence that she go was firm but gentle. She couldn’t imagine wanting to force her in an uncomfortable situation like that on purpose if she was really dead-set on not going. If Candy had said, in the most absolute sense, no, then Sasha would find something else for them to do instead. She wanted her friend to become more confident and comfortable with her body and not worry so much about what other people thought of it, since it wasn’t any of their business to have an opinion in the first place, but that was a process Sasha knew was long and required a lot of patience. She flicked Candy with the tip of her tail as a sign of fondness and encouragement. “You can wear jeans if you like,” she said, “but I can’t imagine it would be very comfortable. You know if you want to do something else we can,” she added, “I always get sand in my tail anyway and it’s kind of impossible to wash out. Also, sea water stinks.” She grinned and pulled a face, “It’s not very pleasant.”
Sasha listened to Candy’s story with great intensity. “Egad!” she exclaimed, “Cousin Rasha? Here in our very own Hobart? And giving lovely ladies pendants and necklaces all willynilly like some pointy eared Don Juan, at that? Well… that just will not do!” she grinned, “And to think he didn’t even come and say hi to me first, the scoundrel! I’ll just have to have a talk with him about this, mark my word!” Sasha balanced the large cake on her right forearm and lifted the necklace off Candy’s chest for a closer look, her grin broadening. “Aw.” She squealed, “That is really, really nice! And he gave it to you to keep? That is so romantic. This really suits you well, the colors and everything. I didn’t know someone with a Y chromosome could do that actually. So,” she batted her eyelashes up at her taller friend, “when’s the wedding? Do I get to help decorate? Oh no! I can help you taste test all the nummy foods. OH!” she grinned, “Now you have a date to Tara and Azure’s wedding! Aw, that’s kind of sad though I was looking forward to being your date.” She pouted, “but no matter! I get to help you dress-shop. We’ll find something that matches that pendant of yours, and I promise Rasha will look respectable too, god only knows what kind of outfit he’d want to wear…!” she rolled her eyes, then gave Candy an evil grin. “So you got the hots for my mum’s cousin? Wait wait wait—you my sister, have the hots for Rasha, our mother’s cousin?” she giggled, “This is amazing. I think I’m going to write a book someday—so if you two got married then what would you be? Like, my great cousin something? I don’t even know. Man! But your kids are going to be gorgeous…!”
Along with her other biologically inherited powers, Sasha had developed the amazing ability to talk forever amen. Call it a teenage girl thing, or… just a girl thing. Or even just a Sasha thing! No one really knew. She bombarded Candy with similarly whimsical fashion, alluding to future marriages and plotting for romantic getaways, planning their future lives together in a mansion atop a hill with a pool in the backyard, a stable of horses and smartly dressed children admiring the works of expensive neo-classical French portraits and modern sculptures that lined their extravagant hallways.
“And you and me and Rasha and Craven can all get together for dinner parties and discuss the latest gossip, like old-time upperclassmen!” she grinned broadly as she placed her hand on the doorknob and pushed the door open with her shoulder, “it will be such fun!”
“Girls, get back!”
Sasha paused, “huh…”
“Leave, now!”
Sasha wasn’t entirely sure what she was seeing. Chaos was the best way to describe it. She held out her hand to bar Candy’s way into the house as she stared into the disheveled lounge room. Xara was holding Tara down to the floor as the woman, barely recognizable as the aunt Sasha remembered, snarled and struggled under her like a demon wronged. Her fangs were fully extended and she had a look of pure death on her features. Sasha nearly dropped the cake as Tara let loose a deafening screech, angry, desperate, and terrified. Rasha was standing off to the sidelines with what looked to be a dislocated shoulder, a broken nose and a black eye. He ran toward Sasha and Candy,
“Tara’s going into labor.” He explained breathlessly, “She’s gone… wild. When the cows arrive we need to put them into the lounge room and everyone needs to get the hell out of here as fast as we can. She’s losing a lot of blood and so her instincts are urging her to get more. Xara and Azure are the only people who can really deal with this right now. Xara is the best warrior and Azure is unaffected by Tara’s strength and ferocity. She will kill anything that bleeds… you need to get out of here.”
“But what about Dylan…” Sasha whimpered, “Rasha what’s going to happen?”
Rasha gave his niece (for all intents and purposes, she was his niece) a gentle look and shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Sasha bit her lip and groaned, “I don’t want anyone to die…!”
“No one is going to die.” “How do you know?”
“I don’t.”
“Then how can you say that?” “Because,” Rasha led the girls away from the house and into the carport, “I trust in your mother and Tara’s mate and I have faith. Just have faith… everything will be alright.” He smiled at them, particularly at Candy, and then looked down at the box Sasha was holding. “Oh, wait, is that cake? I love cake.”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The contractions had gotten worse and worse. It was very sudden, Tara had to admit, and she didn’t see it coming. A few times while they were waiting for the girls to come home the contractions had gotten so bad it made her head spin. She had expected there to be more warning. Her water hadn’t even broken when she started going into labor. She had stood up very suddenly from the sofa and clung to the television stand for support as she felt an uncontrollable urge to push. That was when the blood started to come. It soaked through her jeans and dripped onto the floor, slowly at first, in steady drips. Then as she continued to push, and people began to hurry around her, the blood began to flow even more heavily and her instinctual drive for blood became unbearable. Rasha had approached her, and she shoved him away a harder than anticipated, throwing him into the wall with so much force he dented it, and dislocated his shoulder. It was a blur for her after that. Tara had scented the girls coming and she made it halfway to the door when Xara brought her hard to the floor. She sat on the woman’s chest, enduring her sharp vampire nails and angry threats. “Get a hold of yourself!” Xara snapped, “Those are the children. You don’t eat children!” “Help me!” “I am helping you.” “I need blood!” “Blood is coming.” “When?” Tara squeaked in terror, “when?!” “Soon. It should be here soon. Can someone please take off her pants? Keep pushing Tara it will all be over soon and think about how you will get to hold the baby when it’s all done?” Xara crooned. It seemed to placate Tara, for a while at least. “Azure I need you to hold her down and make sure she doesn’t get up. Dylan?” she called to her mate, “Give me instructions but don’t come any closer.”
Xara stared into Tara’s eyes for a moment. “Let’s deliver this baby safe and sound, alright?”
(( hehe yay! Baby. Okay so you have my full permission to orchestrate this process pupetmasterwise with all my characters, i.e, Xara and Tara to get this baby thing going I mean, I'm writing Tara off as an NPC right now because she's basically a baby making blood sucking machine right now XD Xara will follow Dylan's instructions to the letter. I figure Tara will have her fangs sunk into one of the cows as she gives birth, to keep the blood supply up. Hope this works. ))

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Candy felt a sense of gratitude, mixed with guilt at the thought that she may have been the one who'd deprived Sasha of a day at the beach she had obviously planned ahead on if she'd said no to going to the beach. She felt it would have been selfish, and did not want her friend to adjust her plans just to suit her because she was a little shy of her body. For all she knew, the beach could be deserted by the time they get there. "No, the beach sounds nice," Candy tried to assure her, then added with a smile. "We could work on our tans, right?" The swimming part, Candy wasn't so sure on. Especially with the currents of the water. Swimming itself didn't bother Candy. While she was recovering after waking up at the hospital, some doctors took her to a sort of room with a large wimming pool. She had been asked to try and swim around in the shallow waters as an attempt to strengthen her muscles. Considering she only had one leg, she had been rather good at it too.
As she had hoped, Sasha remembered her cousin Rasha, and to her relief, she didn't seem to mind at all that Candy obviously had a bit of a thing for him. She wore the necklace with a feeling of importance. Someone had cared enough to give her this beautiful item, and she loved it dearly. To think that someone she knew had made it too, it was one of a kind. Nothing else out there like it, just like the young man who made it.
"You really think it's romantic?" Candy asked her friend, unable to hide the giddy note in her voice. She shoved her friend playfully as she asked about a wedding, and decorations, as well as having a date to Tara and Azure's wedding. Tucking some of her long blue hair behind her ear, she smiled a little in embarassment. "Get out," she chuckled. "The wedding is like, ages away! Besides, he's probably not even interested like that. Won't you be going with Craven, anyway?"
Though she'd admit that the thought of going to the wedding with Rasha as her date was something she'd be more than fine with indulging in. She could only imagine what Rasha would wear; in her mind she pictured him actually trying to pull off a dress as well. The image of him in a suit however, hovered there too. A little abashed by the attention, Candy played along with Sasha's rambling about their future lives with Craven and Rasha, and how they'd have amazing kids, and live in expensive houses with big ass hallways, and French portrais and probably fountains outside with peacocks roaming around the pristine lawns.
“...it will be such fun!”
“Girls, get back!”
Sasha paused, “huh…”
“Leave, now!”
The next few moments were a flurry of confusion, and turmoil. Candy found herself helplessly watching as Xara fought to retrain a wild-looking Tara, who was writhing on the floor, struggling to escape Xara's control. Candy breathed as she stared at Tara's face, in particular her eyes. The glittering brown eyes had glazed over, looking feral and tinged red around the edges. The vampiress gnashed her teeth mere inches from Xara's face, emiting a savage and unnatural screech.
Candy grimaced as the sound reached her ears. She blocked her eardrums with her hands, but she continued to stare with her eyes, only turning her head when the scene became too chaotic to watch. It was at that moment she felt a set of hands urge her away from the violent scene. "Rasha! What's going on here?!" She cried, eyes wide as she looked him over. His whole arm was hanging at an unnatural angle, his nose was running blood like a tap, and his eye was a bright shade of purple. shoulde. "Are you okay? What's happening to Tara?"
“Tara’s going into labor.” He explained quickly, sounding as though he was out of breath. “She’s gone… wild." Obviously! "When the cows arrive we need to put them into the lounge room and everyone needs to get he hell out of here as fast as we can. She’s losing a lot of blood and so her instincts are urging her to get more. Xara and Azure are the only people who can really deal with this right now. Xara is the best warrior and Azure is unaffected by Tara’s strength and ferocity. She will kill anything that bleeds… you need to get out of here.”
“But what about Dylan…” Sasha sounded tiny, afraid. Nothing like her usual self. “Rasha what’s going to happen?”
Rasha looked at his cousins daughter in what Candy assumed was supposed to be reassurance, and shook his head, “I don’t know.”
Then Sasha said exactly what was on all their minds. “I don’t want anyone to die…!”
What if something happened to Xara? Or Dylan? Candy knew that Azure would be immune to Tara's bites. But neither Xara or Dylan were. She did not even want to consider the possibility of loosing either of the people who had given her a home. Xara especially... what if she lost her life? And the last thing they did was fight.
They were in the carport now. Candy couldn't even remember walking there. “I trust in your mother and Tara’s mate and I have faith." He told them. "Just have faith… everything will be alright.” Candy caught his gaze and felt herself become a little lost in that damn disarming smile of his. She smiled back regardless of the seriousness of the situation. “Oh, wait, is that cake? I love cake.”
Candy looked at him incredulously. "You're really thinking about cake right now?"
Everything happened just so fast!
The smell of blood hit Azure hard. It was so shocking, and so sudden that she had to remind herself of where she was for a moment.
Tara had moved a lot faster than Azure had seen her do in a long while. She was on her feet in a heartbeat, blood soaking through her pants as she doubled over in obvious pain. The next few moments was a flurry of movement. Dylan was at the kitchen doorway, by the time Rasha got flung into a wall, the drywall crumbling like biscuit crumbs. "Dylan, get back!" She told him as the man instictually went to hurry to Rasha's aid. Dylan hessitated, looking torn between both situations playing out before them. He nodded, and took a step back. Fear was clear in his eyes.
Azure could smell the girls approach, knowing full well that Tara would too but before she could act, Xara was on her already, holding the vampiress down. Tara faught with all her might, despite the weakness of her body as she continued to loose blood rapidly. Tara gnashed her teeth at Xara, scratching at her in an effort to get loose as she cried and screamed.
At Xara's agitated request that someone remove Tara's pants, Azure rushed over and dropped to the blood-soaked carpeting, heedless of the crimson soaking into the knees of her jeans, and fumbled with Tara's pregnancy pants extention. How many countless times had Azure pulled off Tara's pants in a feverish act of arousal? She never thought that she would be stripping them from her in an effort to save not only her life, but the life which grew inside of her. The life which was possibly killing her.
After disgarding Tara's pants, Azure then removed her fiance's underwear and switched positions with Xara, sitting cross-legged style at Tara's head, pulling her into a semi-upright position as Xara situated herself at the vampiress' legs. “Keep pushing Tara it will all be over soon and think about how you will get to hold the baby when it’s all done?” Xara crooned. Azure stroked her fiances hair, muttering words she hoped woud soothe her. “Azure I need you to hold her down and make sure she doesn’t get up. Dylan? Give me instructions but don’t come any closer.”
Xara stared directly into Tara’s eyes. “Let’s deliver this baby safe and sound, alright?”
Dylan, still looking fearful, but knowing they had a matter of life and death on their hands, nodded. "Alright... alright. I know what we need." Azure winced as she watched him hurry away for a moment. Well she certainly hoped he knew, he was the bloody doctor after all! He returned a few moments later with some old towels, and a plastic container holding a few cord clamps, scissors, gauze. Carefully, he set these down beside Xara, then quickly retreated to a safe distance to give instructions. "Now, uh, Xara I want you to set the towels around the area, to help soak the blood and any other fluids. Okay? Idealy, I'd have rathered the birth had been at the hospital but it looks as though we don't have much of a choice, this is going to be a home job. Tara, I need you to listen to me too, please. Every time you feel a contraction I want you to push as hard as you can, okay? Xara, once the baby is out I want you to clamp the umbilical cord in two places and cut in between them. Then the afterbirth will need to come out. I'll talk you through it. Azure, when the cows arive, you're in charge of orchestrating that."[glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

"You're really thinking about cake right now?"
“I get hungry when I get nervous.” Rasha admitted sheepishly. Sasha groaned and placed the cake on the top of the car,
“Not helpful Rasha, and besides, this cake is for later when…people stop bleeding and shit. Here let me see that shoulder,” she placed her hands gently on his shoulder and used her link to guide her as she guided it back into place, healing it in the process, “better?” she asked. Rasha nodded, looking a bit confused. Sasha nodded in turn, “Okay.”
Sasha had grown a lot since the last time Rasha had seen her. When they referred to her boyfriend she thought maybe just a little crush, and a play date. When it dawned on him that they meant a real-live boyfriend, and what they might have been doing, he as suddenly a lot more awkward thinking about it. To think that some boy had his hands all over his cousins daughter made him furious. But there were so many other things he wanted answered too! For example, how was Sasha Candy’s age so soon? How was she in such control of her linking abilities? Why was she wearing so much makeup?
“Sasha, where are you going?” Rasha called after her. Sasha waved her hand dismissively as she approached the lounge room window. He scratched his head nervously and looked to Candy, “Xara said to stay back!”
“I want to see.”
“But what if Tara escapes and tries to kill you?”
“Whatever happened to faith?” she quipped dryly. Rasha opened his mouth as if to say something and snapped it shut with a hum of frustration. Sasha shook her head and walked to the window, peering in at the scene unfolding on her living room floor.
Rasha turned to Candy, worried and stressed out, and gave her an apologetic look. “I did not know that Sasha had grown up to be so strong-willed.” He said tersely, “That girl is already a handful, I can see that! Do you want to stand with her and watch? It will be a grizzly scene I am afraid…and you will have to be prepared to run very fast if Tara gets loose.” He took her hand and squeezed it reassuringly. “But, of course, I will be there to protect you. I do my best to stop her. She’s pretty weak now anyway.” He sighed, “I think I am going to go with Sasha, in case something happens. You can stay here if you like, I will tell you what is going on from a distance…?” he really did not want her to go to the window but at the same time he wanted her company. The panic he was feeling was visible but repressed by a learned calm as he awaited Candy’s response. He heard another scream from within the house, and winced. He could only imagine what was going on in there, and he watched as Sasha’s ears and tail wilted, and the colour in her face drained right out.
Sasha watched on in horror as things played out in her home’s living room area. There was so much blood. So much blood. Sasha could see they would need to replace the carpeting after this. All was well because she didn’t really like the carpet they had anyway. Her mother and Azure quickly switched spots after Azure removed Tara’s pants, and it only occurred to Sasha very briefly that it wasn’t the first time Tara had lost her pants in a hurry. Not wanting to think about her aunts having sex, at the risk of feeling like an utter pervert, Sasha focused on what Dylan was doing. He brought out towels and a bucket of medical tools. She looked back to Tara and her mother and Azure. Xara had propped Tara’s legs up and the towels were laid out around them. Xara measured how dilated Tara was—she looked like she was fully dilated. Xara then relayed messages from Dylan but seemed to be able to take over while Azure was on ‘lock down, calm down’ duties at Tara’s head, coaching her along. Her mother really did look very beautiful when she was in command. She radiated confidence, something Sasha barely ever saw, and for a moment Sasha smiled.
Tara howled again and Sasha’s eyes went round as the woman bore down and pushed. She seemed to do it on instinct. More blood came. Even Sasha could sense she was getting weaker. She didn’t know a vampire was so dependent on blood. It never occurred to her. Now she could only pray the cows would get there on time.
“PUSH!” Xara screamed, “Come on! It’s crowning! One more push Tara, one more push!”
Tara clung on to Azure’s hand as she pushed and was glad she was too preoccupied to want to eat anyone or otherwise she would have been on Xara in a moment. Tara was still feral, after all, even as she clung to Azure’s hand and pushed out the precious life she would soon risk anything and everything to protect. The whole process lasted less than a half hour. Sasha had been watching the whole time, in horror, as her aunt bled and bled and bled. Was there even a baby in there, she wondered? Xara held her hands out to catch the baby and pull when its shoulders came through. The little form was very still when Xara finally laid her hands on it. So much blood had been let that it pooled in a thin, watery layer on her carpet and towels that could not handle any more blood. Tara looked like death but she was still hanging on, a bare memory of her former self. Xara and Dylan had worked together like magic, Dylan shouting instructions and Xara executing them calmly and precisely. It was one of her best talents. She clamped the umbilical cord in two places like Dylan said and then cut it. The baby was still not moving. Xara hurried it away from its starving mother, who was all but frothing at the mouth trying to get some blood. She seemed not to even notice her baby, aside from a small, elated grin that had crossed her features in a brief moment of lucidity when the baby was finally born and she laid eyes on her for the first time. But the baby was frighteningly still.
Xara cradled it. There was life in it, Xara knew there was. She flipped the infant over and gave it a sharp slap on the behind, and the baby vomited fluids as it began to screech and cry. Xara flipped the little child over onto her back again and began to gently rub her down with the warm cloth, speaking in a very calm, low voice to the child as she walked it toward Dylan and gently handed her off to him.
“She’s alright!” Xara called to Azure, “She’s crying and breathing and Dylan is just checking her out now but I think she was a good weight, at least seven pounds—at least!”
Tara struggled feebly, still snapping for blood. Her loss slowed considerably, but she would need the blood of two and a half cows to replenish her supply. Hopefully the farm brought extra. Xara waited in tense apprehension. The truck should have been there already—they were late! It seemed like it would be forever before the cows came. The silence, the tenseness, seemed to stretch on for miles.
Just as she was about to suggest the drastic—offering her family pet Taz to tie Tara over—Rasha burst in through the back door.
“The cows are here.” He said very calmly, but nervously. Xara ran out to grab the cows, paying the man extra for two more, and she and Rasha led the heifers into the lounge room and tied them fast. Tara was frantic now as she thrashed to get at the blood.
“We will come back when she is finished,” Xara promised, locking the last door, “Your baby is fine.” She looked to Dylan, “We should… go, yes?”
(( OOC: fast but traumatic Feel absolutely free to add more to the birth scene. I kind of skimmed over it to give you more wriggle room ^_^ Cue the cows! ))

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]“I get hungry when I get nervous.” Candy really didn't look too amused. Evidently, neither was Sasha, for she then began to rebuke her cousin for being so distracted from what was actually going on. None the less, she was still thoughtful enough to take a look at his shoulder. It wasn't until now that she really took a good look at him since they left the house. His nose was swollen, wet blood continued to glisten around his nostrils, lips, and chin. One eye was a mixture of purple and green. The arm just kinda hung there off of the shoulder.
Sasha touched Rasha's shoulder gently, intending to guide the shoulder back in place. Candy had only ever seen people pop dislocated shoulders back in place in movies before, and wondered if Sasha even knew how to do it. She did not doubt her friend for long however, as to her amazement, Rasha's shoulder was fixed with a muted 'pop' sound.
Was the healing as simple as that? No, perhaps it depended on the serverity of the healing process. When Sasha came home after healing Hadrian, she had needed a very lengthy recovery time. The toll it had taken had been severe, and very dire. Everyone knew that she should not have done what she did, and though they may not admit it, for a while both Xara, Azure, and perhaps a couple of others wished she had not done what she did. For a time, Sasha had talked about a person called Vyrdt, who no one but Hadrian seemed to know, but could not figure out how Sasha learnt of her, considering he'd never mentioned the friend before.
Hadrian had a similar ability actually, though apparently when he healed other people, he took on the injury himself. It would heal as if it wasn't there soon enough, but still... ouch! It made Candy curious. She'd need to ask her friend what her process for healing was like.
As Candy was lost in her own thoughts, it seemed Rasha was too. She watched him curiously for a moment, wondering what he was thinking. “Sasha, where are you going?” He asked suddenly. Candy glanced to the side to see Sasha approaching the window, peering in. Suddenly Candy had the awful visual image of a crazed Tara jumping through the window and attacking her friend.
“I want to see.” She told them.
Rasha seemed to be wondering the same thing as Candy was, because he verbally expressed his concern in the possibility Tara jumped through the glass.
Of course Sasha wasn't going to listen. Her stubborness she got from her uncles. Rasha had the sense to know where the line probably should be drawn, but the common sense not to argue it further with his cousin. “I did not know that Sasha had grown up to be so strong-willed.”
"Thank her uncles for that," Candy smirked a slightly sardonic smile as she crossed her arms, looking curious, yet cautiously towards the window Sasha was peering through. As Rasha took her hand, she felt her mind go somewhat blank. It was weird, with that one simple action, he had her ready to agree to whatever he wanted. But then as he went on to tell her that he wanted to join his cousin at the window, and leave her there standing on her own, simply wondering what was going on, the spell broke, and the frowned. "There's no way I'm standing over here while you two get to watch everything," She told him, seconds before Tara let out an ear piercing scream. Candy's gaze shot to the window, "what's happening?" she hurried over, placing a hand on Sasha's shoulder as she peered through the window.
Candy watched with a mixture of fear, and anticipation as she watched everything play out inside of the living room. So much blood soaked through the carpeting, Azure comforted and restrained Tara the best she could, Dylan instructed Xara, and the warrior looked as though she was in total control. It was a side of Xara which Candy did not see very often, and she was impressed. Xara seemed very collected, very unlike the person she was earlier.
Candy could not watch the actual birthing without feeling her stomach begin to squirm uncomfortably. She never did have a very strong digestive system, after all. Walking away, she stood near the cake and held her stomach to wait for the sick to pass, breathing slowly. She didn't even notice immediately that Rasha had made a dash for the door as a small truck arived with the cows.
One of the things Dylan enjoyed most about being a doctor was the self confidence it gave him. It was as if he became another person; not the shy, stuttering man he usually was, but someone who showed confidence and control in the face of conflict and stress. It seemed as though Xara went through a very similar transformation, for she too radiated authority, and control. She was in charge of this delivery, and it was Dylan who was the assistant.
Azure kept Tara in a firm, restraining grip as Xara performed the delivery, trying her best to comfort her fiance while trying to ensure the others safety. She stroked her hair, whispering into her ear, offering her as much comfort as she possibly could. Dylan could only imagine how difficult it was for her to sit three while there was so much blood spilt on the carpeting, and it only continued to spread.
“PUSH!” Xara screamed, encouraging the vampiress. “Come on! It’s crowning! One more push Tara, one more push!”
Dylan stood as close as he dared to, watching with baited breath as the birthing continued, concern flooding through him as Tara just continued to loose more and more blood. Why hadn't the cows gotten here yet? Tara needed blood! Dylan continued to instruct Xara on what to do, to help pull the baby out the rest of the way, to remember how he had told her she should sever the umbilical cord, clear the mouth and nose of mucous.
"Is she..." Azure asked anxiously, fear laced in the tone of her voice as she laid eyes upon the tiny limp figure inside of Xara's hands. For the briefest moment, although Dylan was well aware of the procedures of child birthing, even he held a flicker of doubt as he stared at the unmoving infant. After so many miscarriages, had they lost another one?
Xara though, was persistant. With a firm whack, she gave the baby a slap on the bottom, earning a satisfying wail from the babies mouth. Grinning at the sight in front of him, he sighed in relief. It was finally over. She was finally here. Holding out his arms, he took the baby from Xara's arms and held her close to his chest near his heart. As much as it pained him that even after waiting for so long for their baby to arive, they were denied the chance to hold their baby just yet. It was too dangerous, he understood that.
Quickly, Dylan took the baby away from the scene and towards the kitchen, where Dylan had already taken the liberty of being a baby bath to wash her in. It was a goft which he and Xara had decided to get for the girls. Giving a newborn a bath was also a lovely way to strengthen their attachment to her.
Running warm water from the kitchen tap, Dylan filled the bath about half way full and unwrapped the infant from the blanket. Immediately, the baby began to grizzle, and then cry again from the sudden shock of being gently placed into the water. She wriggled, balling her tiny, wrinkly hands into fists and kicked her legs feebly in an effort to show her dismay.
"Shh, shh, shh," He soothed, taking a clean sponge and gently dipping it into the water, then quickly, but gently, he washed away the blood which still resided on her tiny body. He started with washing her face, eyes starting from the corner near her nose, then cleaning the creases of her neck and hands. He washed around her ears, then behind them. He then made sure to clean her chest, back, legs, and the rest of her.
When he was finished, he gently dried her off, and rubbed a small amount of mild moisturising lotion over her skin. Swaddling her baby in a soft towel, he held her towards his chest again to warm her up and calm her cries. By the time he was finished, the back door swung open, and Rasha's loud, but calm voice informed them that the cows had arived. About time!
Dylan peered out from the kitchen, watching with interest as both Rasha and Xara led the two cows into the lounge. Not that it mattered now that they had successfully delivered the tiny infant into the world, but he dreaded how expensive, and how much time it would take to clean everything up. The cows were beef cattle, usually bred for meat of course. Though these particular ones had obviously been bred for providing sustinance to vampires. There were four cows now, instead of the two.
They were tied close to the girls, and Dylan felt a sudden surge of protectiveness as he noticed that Tara continued to thrash, looking completelt feral as she struggled to get at the cows, to quench her thirst for blood. Xara stood close to him now, and he unconciously leaned towards her. "We should get the baby far from her for now. Once Tara is fed, I'll go and tend to her." It felt like a crime to do so, though he knew it was in everyones best interest. "Let's go uh, out the back and invite Sasha, and Candy to sit with us in my office until the girls are done with the cows? I don't want them to see anymore than they should."
Azure felt a surge of relief as the cows finally appeared. Their baby was safe, she was alive. The cows were here. Everything would be fine. "See Tara? Carmen's okay, she's healthy and Dylan and Xara will take care of her until we get some blood back into you." She told her fiance, running her fingers through her hair. Gently, Azure took a towel from the floor beside her, covered Tara's waist, and stood, being sure to be as careful as she could as she lift the weakened vampiress into her arms and towards the cows. They were aggitated, unsettled by the scent of blood which surrounded them.
"Rasha, you may not want to see this." She cautioned him. "Tell the girls they shouldn't either. Dylan wants them to stay in his office, you'll be safer there until the bloodlust is gone."
With a quick swipe, Azure grabbed the cows neck, and clamped her fangs over it's jugular, cutting off it's air supply. The cow managed to let out a strangled cry before it turned into a gurgle, and it slowly began to sink to it's legs. The other cows began to struggle against their restraints, crying out loudly, but Azure blocked out the sound. "Drink it, love." She instructed, lowering Tara down to the ground beside the cow, and letting her go hessitantly. She hovered close, making sure she'd be able to act fast in case Tara made a lunge for one of their friends. "Once your finished with this one, I'll get you another."[glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Xara, covered in bleeding scores from Tara’s sharp claws, took the baby from Dylan, desperate to hold and comfort her. The scratches would give Xara a nasty fever. She would require a few days’ rest, since, like her fangs, Tara’s nails administered a slight toxin. It was not nearly enough to change her. It was only enough to give Xara what humans would call a rather nasty flu, and the stoic warrior would ride it out as if it were nothing but a head cold. She swaddled Carmen tight and pressed her gently but securely to her breast. Carmen was soothed by this. She gurgled and snuggled into the warmth and protection Xara’s body provided, and Xara’s ears perked in joy at the feel of a young being needing her, wanting her. Carmen was a perfectly healthy baby girl. She was Azure’s, and Tara’s, and so Xara would, without a doubt, protect her as fiercely as she would Sasha or Candy.
She stepped out into Dylan’s office and immediately placed herself in the most optimal place for escape. Carmen fell asleep very quickly, although Xara knew she would be asking for milk soon. She wondered how Tara would feed her baby. Did the vampire produce milk? Xara nuzzled the infant lovingly and cooed to it in a low, calming voice. She tried to drown out the sounds that were coming from her living room; terrible noises that not even Xara, a relatively merciless warrior, could stomach. Was Tara dying, or was she feeding? Judging on the moans and periodic whimpers, Xara could not tell. As long as Azure did not cry out in anguish, Xara could assume nothing terrible had happened.
“Dylan,” she whispered, bouncing the baby nervously, “will Tara die?” She looked down at the precious life form she held in her arms and tightened her gentle grip, forming a protective shield of flesh around her. Baby Carmen simple made a little wail, a whimper, and gurgled as she abandoned trying to figure out her new world and accepted, instead, the comfort and safety Xara provided. She didn’t know that her mother was taking the life-blood from cows. She didn’t know the frenzy that happened in her wake. Carmen was simply happy to sleep in the comfort of Xara’s arms. Xara sighed, “Where is Sasha? I hope she’s not watching.”
---------
Tara lunged for the blood that Azure had spilled for her. She barely noticed anything else. Her fangs dug hungrily into the cow’s exposed neck and drank. She drank, and drank, and drank until there was nothing left and beyond. When she finally released the cow she moaned and cried in raw, unmentionable pain, the sudden rush of blood making her ache. But even feeling pain was a sign she was getting better. But one cow was not enough to calm the lust. She tried going for the live bodies she sensed just beyond the hallway but something stopped her. Something she loved. She yelled at her, screeched at the being blocking her way. She needed that blood! She needed it! But she was not going to get to the beings beyond the hall. Tara snarled in defiance and lunged for the second cow. It was a messy kill, but Tara clung to it like life itself. As she drank, she gained color, and sanity. When she was finished she pulled back in a stumbling gaze. Her eyes gained focus. She held her head and blinked rapidly. She was still hungry. She knew what she had to do. Tara looked down at herself in a moment of disgust before going after her third and final cow. She drank three-quarters of it before sinking to her knees.
“Azure…” she said in a quiet voice, hoarse and wavering. She looked down at herself. Not one part of her was free from blood. She was drenched, reddened, as if covered in some morbid paint. She felt weak and strong at the same time and she could not tell if she wanted to run forever or fall asleep. She looked to her fiancé for guidance. “What did I do?” Tara assumed the worst.
---------
Sasha watched on in pure terror. She had never seen this side of her aunts before. She had gone around the back to watch through a small window. Was Azure really capable of killing something? It was impossible. And Tara… the cows meant nothing to her. Look at her eyes—she was gone. Would Aunt Tara ever come back, or was she lost forever? The blood was what made Sasha look away. The blood and terrified bellowing of the cows. Sasha slid down the wall of her home and buried her face in her hands, shivering. It was brutal, but necessary. She knew that now. She fully understood the severity of the condition of her two favorite Aunts, and the self-restraint it took to live among blooded people. A pair of hands lifted her to her feet but she kept her eyes firmly shut. All she could see was blood—blood and fear. Wasn’t that always how it was? Blood and fear?
“Mekee asie meral su sanei ouya akiacessor. Chie rouni sanei mahno su septa eseni.” Sasha frowned and let the song envelop her. Vyrdt made her smile. Sasha felt comforted. “Lissa pana reon”
Be not afraid.
Okay, Sasha thought as the bodiless hands took her away, Lissa pana reon. I will not be afraid.
She opened her eyes again. They were all in the office—the people she loved. Sasha went to Candy, seeing her mother with Carmen, and huddled close to her blue-haired companion. She hugged Candy’s arm and buried her face in the girl’s shoulder. “Lissa pana reon…” she muttered very, very softly. “Lissa pana reon, Candy.”

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]
As the tiny weight left Dylan's arms and entered Xara's, his eyes lingered on her. As well as the scratches covering certain areas on Xara's skin; they'd need some tending to, he mused. Once he knew that they'd all be safe inside of his office, away from the blood shed in the lounge area.
What they had just seen was something that not many people were able to witness, and live to tell the tale. Before Dylan met and fell in love with Xara he'd had no experience in being around the paranormal, or aliens. He'd always been a little sheltered, and reclusive so rarely left his warehouse, and if he did it wasn't to be out for very long. Now he knew aliens, vampiress', a unicorn, demons, a half-demon/alien mix, and now the newborn infant of two vampires just to name a few. The private man without a social life had suddenly been bombarded with new aquaintances.
Dylan's office had originally been a spare bedroom. Instead there was a small mahogany desk, with a leather spinny chair he could sit in very comfortably while catching up on worknotes, or his side projects, a filing cabinette with a lock securing it, and a large lamp. The window was large but the curtains were often drawn, so as not to attract any unwanted eavesdroppers, and it gave the room a privy feel to it.
He opened the door for Xara, closing it almost all the way as he walked through for himself after her. He wanted to make sure that when the girls and Rasha came through the back then Dylan would be sure it was them, and not Tara, if she became strong enough to attempt to follow them. Direful noises filled the house; cows cried out in anguish and fear as the vampiress herself was screeching terrible, awful sounds that made Dylan want to recoil, yet help simultaniously. He knew full well the danger they were all still currently in, despite the fact they now felt more secure inside of his office.
“Dylan,” Xara whispered, soothing Carmen with her gentle movements. Briefly, Dylan admired how natural she looked while holding the baby, and how right it felt that someday, hopefully sooner rather than later, they would try to have their own. “Will Tara die?”
Dylan looked at her from his place leaning against a wall near the door, face blank for a moment before he glanced away. Uncertainty was written clearly across his face. "I - I don't know," he admitted. "Tara's pregnancy has been unique. I had no idea that she'd lose so much... so much blood. If I'd known then I would have been better prepared. M-maybe have some blood ready for her to replenish herself during the birthing." Dylan cursed himself for not being better prepared. He felt that he should have anticipated something such as that would happen. But then again, there'd been no way he'd have been able to know it would turn out this way. Any regular person would have died from blood loss.
“Where is Sasha? I hope she’s not watching.”
"Hmm, wll they... they should be here soon," he peered at the door, as if expecting they'd walk in as he spoke the words. "I know Candy and Rasha will make sure she's okay."
Azure watched, satisfied as Tara drank from the exposed neck of the cow she had bled for her. In her other life, Azure knew that she'd never have been able to stand such a sight, but in this one, as a vampiress, the act of drinking the blood from these cows felt as natural as blinking, or breathing. She hated to see the woman she loved in so much pain, and suffering for their little daughter, sweet Carmen.
Azure desperately wanted to hold their baby, to gaze into her eyes for the first time. But Tara needed her right now. She needed to ensure both Tara and Carmen remained safe. Azure blocked the entrance to the hallway towards the bedrooms, and the office, her own teeth bared in a silent hiss, warning her fiance to leave the other beings alone. They had to stay alive. If Tara was going to try and get past her, then... well, they'd get to that if it happened. To her immense relief, Tara made a lunge for the second cow instead, sinking her deadly fangs into it's jugular herself with a sickening squelch. Blood trailed down the corners of her lips and down her neck. Hungrily, Azure felt tempted to lick the blood from Tara's own neck to replenish her own dry throated thirst. But she knew that she'd need to refrain. There would be time for feeding once she felt assured that Tara was well again.
Slowly but surely, color began to refill Tara's face. Her tense body began to relax, and eventually, she began to regain lucidity. The third, and final cow, already in a state of shock from just witnessing the other two's demise, barely made a sound as Tara's teeth penetrated it's neck to drink it's life fluid. Azure stayed perfectly still, right up until Tara fell to her knees. She dashed to her side, and wrapped her arms around her shoulders, pressing her lips to her hair. "It's okay," she crooned, gently stroking Tara's hair with her fingers as she spoke. "Xara and Dylan are taking care of Carmen... she's healthy and beautiful, Tara. Everything's fine."
Candy remained clear of the window now, not wishing to witness anymore of what was taking place inside of the massacre-scene that was once their lounge area. It didn't matter if her eyes were open, or closed, the image of all that blood, and the cows being sucked dry of their blood hung in her mind. A new sound, like scraping made her stomach twist, and she turned in time to see Sasha slide down the side of the house, and sit there with her face hidden inside of her hands; her whole body trembled violently.
Panicked, Candy ran to her friend, urging her to rise to her feet, telling her that they needed to get to the office, like they had been asked to do. At a loss, she cried for Rasha to help her get Sasha to her feet, and tugged at Sasha's arm. Sasha began to mutter under her breath, in a language Candy had never heard before. Was it Xara's language? But why hadn't she heard Sasha speak this way before? It was difficult to actually absorb the words Sasha sung, as she sung them so softly and fluently.
Together, Rasha and Candy managed to assist Sasha in stumbling towards the office through the backdoor, away from the bloodshed and terrible sounds of death. As they pushed the door open the rest of the way to help Sasha into the room, Dylan had jumped up from the wall and offered them space to sit her down. Candy sat beside her immediately, holding her friend close as she had latched onto her arm and burried her face into her shoulder. “Lissa pana reon…” Candy heard her mutter, almost whispering it. Candy had heard Sasha say it outside, she realised. Rubbing her hand over Sasha's back, she wondered what on Earth it meant. She said nothing at first, looking up at the taller people in the room in fear, as if she was looking for answers. "Don't worry Sash, everything's okay now." She tried to offer her some comfort, but felt at a loss at how to do so.[glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

"Tara's pregnancy has been unique. I had no idea that she'd lose so much... so much blood. If I'd known then I would have been better prepared. M-maybe have some blood ready for her to replenish herself during the birthing."
Xara shook her head, “There was nothing more any of us could do. We did our best, my love.” She nodded reassuringly and smiled down at Carmen. “If Tara dies, she will grow up with only one mother, but not without the support of all of us, and I know that is all Tara would ask for—is if we took care of them. And we will. I will.” She sighed and looked back up at Dylan, “I just wish…” her eyes widened, and she smiled after a moment. “She’s taken the blood, Dylan. She’s taking the blood… her link has just gotten stronger. Her lust is also strong,” she recoiled slightly,
“Where are Rasha and the girls?”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Rasha was shocked by all the blood, but coming from a war-ridden society he was not at all horrified. The shock came mostly from the fact that such kind, caring women were capable of such gruesome hunting habits. The birthing was a relatively new experience for him as well, and so the shock of the violence of that display alone accounted for the majority of his recoil. Poor Tara, he thought, but, mostly, poor Azure for having to watch poor Tara and knowing there was little she could do about it. Azure was being remarkably strong for her mate, and Rasha allowed a strong flow of admiration and encouragement to seep through his “base” link, the link he shared with every creature who allowed for one. His link to Azure was different from Xara’s of course; his was more like seeing Azure from a distance, whereas Xara’s was much more intimate, like holding hands with an old, old friend who knew every thought and secret and with whom she did everything. In that sense, her link with Azure was more literal. But despite his distance from the vampire-entrepreneur his encouragement and admiration could still be heard. Essentially: he was cheering her on.
His ears swiveled Candy’s way as the girl promptly left the window and he frowned compassionately. He was on his way to meet her when the trucks arrived. He stopped to give her a gentle squeeze on the shoulder and met her eyes with a look of gentle understanding. He wished he could shield her from it. He didn’t even notice Sasha.
When he announced the cows and helped Xara bring them in, she asked him to get the girls and take them to the safety of the office. When he arrived Sasha was on the ground, head in hands, with Candy at her side. He helped Candy take his trembling niece to the office. He flashed Xara a nervous glance, and then looked to Dylan. Everyone’s attentions were split between Azure and Tara, and Sasha’s mental breakdown. He approved of Candy’s approach to her, and with a quick link with Xara, he approach his niece and hugged her gently, wrapping Candy up in his long arms as well he gave them both a tight squeeze. Xara closed her eyes with an exhale and linked to Sasha and immediately the young girl relaxed and ceased her babbling. She looked to her mother and for a moment Rasha could not tell whose eyes were whose—a sign of a strong, powerful bond—and both women smiled, though Sasha’s was lopsided and insecure.
Sasha and Xara let their link drop once things calmed down in the lounge area and Rasha chanced a peek out the door. “They’re hugging,” he said with cautious optimism.
Xara passed Carmen to Dylan, “Tara’s link is unstable still but she is stabilizing very quickly. The blood is working. In a moment I will go out and see if everything is alright. Perhaps, for the moment, you all stay here. I am stronger and faster than anyone here, no offence,” she cast Dylan a rueful look, “but of anyone I think I would stand a better chance of surviving an attack.”
Rasha nodded. It was logical, of course. After a few moments Xara ventured out, and Sasha looked up to Dylan.
“Dad,” she said, still hanging on to Candy’s arm, “can I see the baby please? She’s so tiny! Was I that tiny once?”
Rasha grinned, “Yes! And you had the most adorable ears too. I remember one time when you were just a toddler…”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
“—everything’s fine."
Fine…everything’s fine. Tara nodded slowly and looked around the lounge room with a heavy sigh. She placed her hand on the wet carpet and watched as the blood oozed from its fibers and onto her hand, luke-warm and sluggish. “I ruined her floor.” She observed sadly, examining her hand “Oh, poor Xara, look what I’ve done?” Tara reached out and wrapped her arms around Azure as best she could and buried her face in her shoulder. “We’re going to help buy her a new one right?”
“Actually we were going to tear it up anyway; I wanted a nice hardwood… something I don’t need to vacuum and that I can wash easily, and that is cool to the foot, yes? I was thinking a dark stain-- it will match the furniture.”
Tara lifted her head to gaze up at Xara, who was leaning against the doorframe, smiling despite all that had happened. Tara felt an arousal of bloodlust and she snarled and lunged at Xara for a split second, but her embrace with Azure prevented her from going any further. There was shock in those jade eyes but it was the only indication that Xara reacted to the almost-attack.
Tara breathed deep, calming breaths, “I’m sorry about your carpet.” She said through gritted teeth, battling an anger directed at no one but herself. She sighed and her shoulders sagged as she felt the blood work into her system and her lust subsided, “I want to pay for you to stay in a hotel and I’ll do the floors for you--”
“Tara, stop.” Xara cocked her head to the side, “If you think I am squeamish toward a little blood,” Tara’s brows shot up at the word ‘little’ and she frowned; if this was a little, then what did a lot of blood look like? Xara smirked,
“Or that I am going to let you pay for any of this, you are a little more out of it than we originally thought. Now,” she pushed off from the wall and placed her hands on her hips, cocking them to one side as she shifted her weight, “You are more than welcome to take a bath if you like; there are towels in the cupboard in the bathroom. I will arrange for some clothing for you. I think Dylan would like a short examination, to make sure everything is alright—once everything is safe, of course, and if you’ll allow it. Carmen is fine, but you won’t be able to see her until we know you are completely cured from your hunger. Not that I am saying you are going to hurt her, but precautions in light of recent events are…prudent.”
“Oh yes,” Tara nodded vigorously, “I totally agree, and I don’t want to see her until I get the go ahead from Doctor Dee.”
Xara nodded, “Alright, this sounds good. Shall I run the bath for you, or would you like a shower instead?”
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Xara rubbed the bridge of her nose. “Azure,” she said quietly, “we may need to talk with Candy and Sasha...they saw everything. Well…Sasha saw everything, and I mean everything. Candy stepped away before Carmen was born, but they are both still very upset. Perhaps you and I can speak with them while Dylan is examining Tara. You have eaten…yes?” her eyes flickered with concern. Tara had left one cow, which had been shocked into silence, and though Xara saw no other cows left she wanted to make sure Azure had cared for herself after such a harrowing ordeal. She took Azure’s hands in hers gently, almost uncertainly, and met her eyes again with a tired and distraught look of adoration; she knew how hard it had been for Azure, and she wanted to do all she could to help in whatever way she could.
“Although we can always talk to them later, or I can talk to them alone if you like. Oh, gods, I should not have suggested anything so soon…you have had a hard night as it is. I’m so sorry.”

[glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]
Dylan knew that there was really no way for any of them to prepare for what they had all witnessed today. It was true that they did their best, but at the same time, Dylan could not help but think that he could have researched more, been better prepared. There was no sense in dwelling on the what-ifs.
Each and every being involved in their guerrilla group supported eachother. As Dylan understood, before he met Xara, she had organised that Hadrian and Sage become Sasha's godparents, and care for her themselves if anything were to happen to her. Now that Dylan was in the picture, he wondered where he stood. If anybody died - heavens forbid - the survivers would do their best to care for their loved ones. Dylan feared just as much as any of them for their safety and well being. He also felt a fair amount of pressure on himself. These beings were depending on him both as Xara's mate, and a doctor to take care of them. They'd look to him for medical assistance and advice. If Tara had died today he would have felt as though he had failed them all; not just Azure, or the baby Carmen.
He still felt as though he didn't quite fit in with the others, even after all these years of knowing them. Of course he had Xara, and Sasha, and loved them both very dearly. Candy was wonderful company as well; she enjoyed poetry, so they would occasionally read together in the afternoons, if things were quiet and peaceful. It became one of their things, and soon enough they became able to talk about almost anything and trust it would be kept in the strictest of confidences. Dylan would admit that he kinda sorta... did push his handy doctoring skills onto Hadrian, so they didn't have the smoothest start in regards to being friendly. But Dylan liked to think that they were at least fairly amicable now. Like each of the members of their little group, Dylan was himself. He would probably always be a (slightly) awkward genius with poor communication skills, but he was fiercely loyal to this circle of friends which he had somehow found himself among.
When the girls and Rasha finally appeared, and Dylan could see that Sasha needed to be assisted into the room by her blue-haired friend and his mates cousin, he wasn't sure which side of him was stronger; the doctor in him, or the father in him. Perhaps both sides were coexisting. He wanted to comfort Sasha, check her over and make sure that she was okay. But for now, she seemed to require Candy's comfort.
“They’re hugging,” He heard Xara tell them with a cautious tone of voice. Dylan exhaled a mental sigh of relief at the news. He knew that it did not necissarily mean that it was safe to attempt to go anywhere near the girls as of yet, but it was a good sign that Tara was beginning to regain control over herself. So as Xara actually suggested that she go and check on the vampiress', Dylan's head whipped around to gawk at her. No! He hated the idea! "Xara, please! Regardless of the fact you may be stronger and faster I - I don't like the idea." He knew that her mind had been made up though. There was realy no point in trying to sway her decision. She soon left the room, causing Dylan's stomach to twist unpleasantly.
“Dad,” He turned to face Sasha, attentive to her once again. He smiled as she asked questions, walking closer to her and kneeling so he could hold baby Carmen in clear view. The tiny infant wriggled, scrunching up her little eyes in sleep. "All babies are this tiny, Sash," he smiled fondly at the baby, and then at the girls, Candy offered him a smile, grinned up at Rasha, then focused on Carmen. Rasha began to tell them a story of Sasha when she was a toddler, and Candy smiled fondly at her friend, giving her shoulders a gentle squeaze.
Dylan wished that he could have known Sasha as a baby; she would have been a beautiful infant, and toddler of course. She was going to be as beautiful as her mother, the spitting image when she was older. Y'know, he could get used to this; holding a baby that is. It was scary, and calming both at once. Scary because she was so little... in his massive arms, she felt fragile. But then knowing that this little being was so dependant on you for comfort herself, watching her tiny face scrunch up in sleep, or watching her squirm about, and that new baby smell! She smelt heavenly.
Azure clutched Tara to her, for her own safety, comfort and the safety of those they loved. She attempted to calm her breathing, blocking out the scent of blood as best she could; still, she thirsted for it as well. The carpeting around them was covered in crimson, and soaked though so badly it simply could not absorb any more. The remaining cow appeared to be in some state of shock. The other three lay in bloodied heaps of the floor, their bodies completely drained of their blood. “I ruined her floor.” Azure's heart almost broke at the sound of Tara's voice. She was going to agree to the plan of buying Xara some new carpeting, but her friend suddenly decided to make an appearance, leaning against the doorframe, wearing a smile across her face, much to Azure's surprise.
She felt Tara stiffen in her arms and instinctually tightened her grip, prepared to protect her friends safety. Although Tara was beginning to come to her senses, and Azure desperately wanted to see their baby, she was not prepared to let her go just yet. She was on high alert to protect the others as best she could. Her fiance was not the bad guy.
Azure had to admit, it surprised her that Xara was taking this so well. Little blood was a bit of an understatement though. It certainly was more than a little blood, and Azure knew full well she'd be doing what she could to help her friend and her family make up for the mess they had made. Xara seemed to take the leadership role perfectly. Azure could see that her friend was certainly an excelent choice in helping prepare everyone for their uncertain future. Xara was a picture of authority; offering Tara a choice of a shower, or a bath, as well as a check up from Dylan. Good idea, but Azure still wished to insist she hover closely. The last thing they needed was an injured (or dead) doctor.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
While Tara washed herself in the bathroom, Azure attempted to collect herself, and actually allow everything that had just taken place to sink in. She looked around her, at all the blood and cringed. It really was a lot.
“Azure,” Xara's voice pulled her from her thoughts. She turned to face her friend, and listened with dread as Xara explained that the girls had seen the bloody birthing. Perhaps they should speak with them. But what on Earth to say? They shouldn't need to apologize for what they were. But she should explain why they did what they had to do in order to survive.
She had not eaten, no. The live cow was evidence of this, of course. Before today, the last time she had fed was a few days ago. She wasn't so sure that she could actually bring herself to swallow anything right now. Though she knew that she should at least try, for everyones benefit. It would be better not to have two hungry vampiress' in the same house, after all.
Xara took Azure's hand, crimson from the blood, and Azure looked down at them briefly before meeting Xara's gaze. Azure bit her bottom lip, sighing and shook her head. "No, I'd like to have a word with them too. If they saw all this," She looked around them. "I dread to think what they must be thinking of us right now." She glanced at the cow, taking pity on it. "I should drink first though." She admitted, smiling a smile which looked more like a grimace.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
After Azure had drank her fill, she had washed her own self the best she could, borrowing a pair of black leggings, and a long deep blue t-shirt from Xara which she seldom wore. She would wash hers and Tara's clothes when they got back home.
Azure knocked on the door of Dylan's office tentatively, peering inside. Immediately, her eyes latched onto the tiny bundle in Dylan's arms, and a smile spread across her features. "Can I hold her?" she asked, hopeful, and fearful all at once. Dylan seemed to hessitate for a moment, looking down at Carmen, and nodding once. He stepped forwards, at the same time Azure held out her arms. The moment they were full of the baby, Azure felt her eyes fill with tears. "Hey Carmen," she crooned, taking a finger and gently running it over Carmen's smooth milky cheek. The baby made an odd sound, almost like a mewl, and leaned into her mothers' touch.
"She's perfect, all ten fingers and toes. Very healthy."[/b] Dylan told her, smiling shyly. "She's beautiful," Azure doted, leaning to give the child a kiss on her tiny forhead. She glanced up at the girls, and Rasha then, looking shy, and self concious. It wasn't a feeling she was all that used to. " Girls... Rasha..." She looked at him as well, trying to guess what they were feeling simply judging off of their expressions. Candy held Sasha close, hugging her in a very similar way she could remember Xara holding her sometimes. The blue-haired girl looked wary, and didn't say anything. But she didn't look as scared as Azure thought she may have expected. Azure slowly, and very carefully sat on the carpeting in front of them, holding Carmen to her chest. "I want to answer any questions you have about what happened before... I'm sorry that you had to see any of it. It's a side of Tara and I that I hoped none of you would have had to witness."[/size] [glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Xara watched Azure drain the last beast. She was less disturbed by it than her companions—especially Sasha—and the process was made beautiful by the fact that it kept one of her closest friends alive and well. As far as Xara knew, Sage did not have any extraordinary feeding habits, but then again, she never asked. Everyone pretty much knew how Tara and Azure fed as soon as the word vampire made it into the picture, but Hustrians were still something of a mystery.
When that was over the alien woman gathered clothes for Azure and Tara and let them bath themselves. Tara spent a long time in the washroom, even after Azure left. Xara waited outside the door in case Tara needed her but after fifteen minutes of no audible movement she decided Tara was trying to hole herself away from the rest of the world and, being Azure’s mate and therefore someone Xara loved without reservations, she felt it her moral duty to do her best to comfort her. Xara knocked once on the door and asked permission to enter, as was customary for human culture, and was answered with silence. This gave her executive rights to barge in, and she exercised those rights in full. “Tara?”
Tara looked up at her from the corner of the bathroom, her knees pulled tightly to her chest, eyes dark and sunken and so very sad. Xara’s heart very nearly broke at the sight of her, and she crouched down, lowering herself to eyelevel, and placed a hand on one of Tara’s shivering knees. She rubbed the knee gently,
“What are you doing?” Xara asked quietly.
“I—don’t want to be—with people at the moment so—ca-an you please just l-leave? I just want to be left a-alone.” Tara managed between gasps, wiping her eyes furiously. Tara hated to be caught crying, even though she did it oftener than most of the other women in their group. She liked to think herself a stoic of sorts but Xara knew that wasn’t true. She didn’t seek sympathy for her life as an orphan, but that didn’t make someone a stoic it just made them humble and grateful for what they have now and for the person they ended up becoming. Xara respected Tara deeply for that, among other things.
Xara shook her head, “Look at you! You’re a wreck, Tara. I can’t leave you here to sob on my bathroom floor… alone, anyway.” She sat down on the tiles and crossed her legs, cautiously snuggling up to the woman so their shoulders touched. Tara tensed, “Relax,” Xara said gently, “You’re not going to hurt me, I promise.”
Tara snorted, “How do you know? Can you rea—oh.” Xara cocked an eyebrow at Tara, and giggled. Tara blushed, “Right, you can read minds. I forgot about that…that’s pretty much your thing, isn’t it?”
“That and killing people.” Xara agreed with a light shrug. Tara flashed a tired grin of gratitude, and then averted her eyes shyly. They sat in silence for a long, pregnant moment before she spoke again. “Xara,” she said quietly, “I’m so sorry about your floor…and I’m so scared. I’ve never felt so out of control, not since that time I almost overdosed…” she grimaced, “back in Miami when I was younger I fucked around with some hardcore drugs and one day I went too far, maybe it was laced with something else, and… well, something similar happened though I don’t really remember the specifics…” she shivered, “I almost died, so I scared myself straight I guess. I don’t know: I was lucky. But that’s not even that bad, this time someone could have been hurt—someone other than myself—I could have killed you all if Azure hadn’t been there to stop me. I’ve never been in control of myself as a vampire… it’s dangerous. What if something happens?”
“Nothing will happen.”
“How do you know? What if it does?”
Xara turned to level her gaze at Tara and said, in a flat, honest voice, “Because you have us, and we won’t let it happen. Also because it’s not in your nature to hurt things, let alone things you care about. You won’t let it happen as much as we won’t, and you know that. But even if you do,” she added before Tara had time to interject, “you know you’ll have us to help you in whatever way you need, and we’ll do anything for you. You’re not alone anymore, you’re a part of my family. Whether you think that’s a good thing or a bad thing, well” she smirked, “I guess it depends on the situation. If it’s peace and quiet you’re looking for you are “fresh outta luck” as Sasha would say.”
Tara stared at Xara in a bemused sort of way, not saying anything, simply staring, though it was obvious she was thinking very hard about something. Xara furrowed her brows, “So, do you want to see Carmen or do you want to sit here for a bit?”
Tara nodded slowly, “Let’s play it safe,” she said in a hushed voice, “I’m going to stay here.”
“Then I will too.” Xara grinned. Poor Tara had always been a lost soul. Ever met someone who thinks the world owes them everything? Tara was the kind of person who assumed the world not only didn’t owe her anything, but felt as if she owed the world, and she repaid her imaginary debt by making herself as small and burdenless as possible. If Xara hadn’t insisted, Tara would have shooed her off.
Suddenly a strong pair of arms found themselves draped over Xara’s shoulders and fresh tears dripped down her neck and on to her shoulders. Xara found herself embracing the woman she thought she had a love-hate relationship with, with particular emphasis on the hate aspect, and for a moment didn’t know what to do. “Thank you.” Tara whispered, hugging Xara close. Xara smiled and gently squeezed the woman back,
“Of course, voethe: any time.” She mumbled. Her ears perked to the comfortable silence that fell upon them as they enjoyed their closeness, cuddled up on the bathroom floor; this moment was priceless.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sasha blinked up at her aunt as she took baby Carmen and held her to her breast. It was a cool thing to see, watching Azure hold her baby for the first time. She couldn’t help but smile, even a little bit, through her terror.
Terror, and guilt. How could she be so judgmental about Azure, of all people? It wasn’t Azure’s fault she needed to feed on blood. It wasn’t Tara’s fault either, and it certainly was no one’s fault that things had gotten so bloody. But still, the violence shocked her, and Azure suddenly became a new person in Sasha’s eyes.
"I want to answer any questions you have about what happened before... I'm sorry that you had to see any of it. It's a side of Tara and I that I hoped none of you would have had to witness." Questions? Who didn’t have questions… where would Sasha even begin! She gave Candy a lost look; what should she do? She didn’t want to insult Azure, or hurt her feelings, but she couldn’t pretend she wasn’t just as upset by it…
“Um,” Rasha raised his hand tentatively, looking around the room in case someone else had something to say first, “I have a question: how do your fangs work? Like straws or something? Can I see one? Is that an awkward request? I’m sorry. Oh, are you hypersensitive to the taste of different blood types? What would I taste like? Cotton candy I hope—I love cotton candy… oh! Hey, how does your body use the blood—oh also, also!—what happens if you drink too much, do you get a stomach ache or do you just get really warm? What do you think Carmen will be: a vampire, or…what? Can you still eat food, like, regular food? What about alcohol? Are you really allergic to the sun? What about milk? Will Tara’s breasts still produce it, and will it be edible?”
Sasha stared on at her cousin in horror. “Rasha!” she hissed, “What is wrong with you? Don’t be so rude!” she looked back to her aunt Azure, ignoring Rasha’s rueful ‘Sorry…’, “I’m sorry Aunty. I don’t think Rasha’s left any questions for the rest of us.” She cast the brown haired man a dark look, then sighed and turned her gaze back to Azure, “I... guess I just didn’t realize what it would be like. I don’t want you to feel bad about being a vampire, it’s not a bad thing.” She smiled nervously, “You’re still my aunty Azure…I still love you.” She separated from Candy to reach out and embrace Azure, albeit cautiously, “… how do your fangs work, anyway?” she asked after a short moment. “Do you whiten them? I bet blood stains—red wine stains.” She nodded gravely. “You must brush all the time!”
(( OOC: Not sure where to go with this I mean it would be interesting to hear Azure's answers ... hehe. But we can do some more dramatic things. I think I might put Rasha away for now -stores him in backpocket for later- maybe focus on some Azure and Xara for bit...? We don't do them very often, I think it might be good, but we could do Sasha and Azure, Candy and Sasha, Candy and Xara, Tara and Azure, Dylan and Xara... any combination really! What say you? You're rump is placed firmly in the drivers seat for this one. -gives you your seatbelt- Also going to use black as my text color too-- easier to read Dx ))

[/center] [glow=red,2,300]Hello, hello, are you listening? Hello, hello, are you there? You've tuned the voices out but now the symptoms are everywhere You are, you are, you are part of this I know you think you're much more You better think again Because you're one defenceless animal [/glow]Candy gazed at Azure, experiencing a newfound awe, and fear for the woman. She could not get the images out of her mind; of Tara, with her feral eyes glistened madly. Her curled fingers in imatation of claws. Her mouth opened, and lethal fangs bared only to allow a mad snarling sound to escape. She had been scared, and frantic as well as starving for blood.
Candy could still visualize the sheen of the fangs, and instantly felt afraid. She'd only heard of vampire's in books and on some late night movies. She knew of their power. She knew once you were a vampire, nothing was going to help you. She knew you stayed in the state in which you were bitten for all eternity.
For some reason, Candy's mind had accepted all this.
But, what she couldn't comprehend, was how these vampires had once been a human.
What questions could they possibly ask at a time like this? One moment Azure and Tara are fighting for control over their sences... their humanity, and now Azure was holding her newborn infant, as though that whole terrifying ordeal of the messy birthing never happened.
Rasha was the first to collect himself, and the questions he came up with both horrified, shocked and impressed Candy all at once. Azure seemed equally as surprised, but there was a hint of amusement written on her face too.
"Oh, gee," Who says 'gee' anymore except old people and Christians? "Well, to start off... the fangs. Heard of vampire bats? Well the process of drinking blood isn't unsimilar to that, I guess. This is just what I've learnt from experience now, and research." She peeled back her upper lip and exposed a retracted fang for each of them to see. After a moment, she spoke again. "The fangs themselves lack enamel, which keeps them permanently sharp. They don't act like straws. They inject our prey" Candy winced at the word 'prey' "with own saliva and blood, to facilitate the process of making new vampires, inject anti-coagulants to increase the flow of blood, and muscle relaxing drugs to ensure they don't struggle. The blood flows from arterys, and we drink it; pretty simple. We drink the blood of cows which are specially bred for vampires, and avoid feeding on anything else unless we absolutely have no choice."
"Vampire's don't produce their own blood. So if we want to keep living, we need to feed. If we drink too much it's like when people eat too much. You just feel full." At his question about Carmen, she glanced down at her newborn daughter with admiration in her eyes. "I don't know if she's a vampire, human, or maybe even a shape-shifter, like Tara used to be. I've read about transformations. Most people believe that to become a vampire you must be bitten by one, but then I've read that there are many ways to become one. A child born with long, and sharper canine teeth, someone who commits suicide, one who dies a sudden or violent death, a bat flying over a corpse, or someone that has been bitten and drinks the vampires blood in turn – those are said to be just some other ways to become a vampire. But as far as I know, being bit is the only real way to be turned."
"We can eat food, though it takes longer to digest depending on how much blood we have in our system. Blood can sometimes have a bit of an alcoholic effect... well, maybe not so much. But you did see what it can do to us if we're craving it." She winced. "The suns not a problem, though it will irritate the skin if we make direct contact with it for too long. Think of a person who gets sunburn easily. Milk though? I'm not sure... we'll need to see."
That was all the questions right?
Sasha seemed mortified at her cousins forwardness. The others didn't seem to mind though; even the placid Dylan looked amused. Azure smiled, and shrugged. "Ah, it's okay though," she smiled sweetly at Rasha. "I'm just sorry that you had to see that. It really is a side of us I never wanted any of you to have to see."
Candy chewed on her bottom lip, watching carefully as Sasha unfurled herself from their embrace and cautiously approached her aunt. Their embrace had been for Sasha's benefit, as well as her own. Dylan watched cautiously as well. But to their relief, as Sasha wrapped her arms around Azure, they embraced warmly, and gently.
“… how do your fangs work, anyway?” Sasha asked after a short moment. “Do you whiten them? I bet blood stains—red wine stains. You must brush all the time!”
"Mouthwash tastes terrible! But that helps too," Azure nodded, and snuggled into her nieces embrace.
Azure stretched out on the grass in Xara's backyard, staring up at the grey clouds as they drifted across the sky, hiding the sun from view. Tara was currently having a chat with the others, and meeting their baby for the first time so the other vampiress wandered away from the others, to clear her head a bit. So much had happened in such a small space of time.
They had both scared the living daylights out of their friends. Azure feared the long-term effects of everything that they had witnessed. Tears trembled at the corners of her eyes, her brow furrowed as thoughts floated around her mind. Should she and Tara leave for a while, to give the others space? No, they had Carmen. Plus with all of the anxiety and paranoia about the Facility, they'd be fools to leave their friends.
"I'm scared." She whispered to no one in particular.[glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Castor was agitated and high strung. She moved more like a beast than a human. Slipping like mercury from house to house. Searching. Her eye's where dangerously close to matching a yellow hue but through gritted teeth she told herself she was managing it. It was how day's or weeks like this went. With nothing to do she quickly became bored and that boredom second after minute after hour escalated. Into the sharp nervous twitching of her hand to the sharp barring of her teeth. Slipping down the side of a house she landed on the pavement and walked along it like one would expect a normal being to go about it's business.
She was hoping to find Xara. Castor had gotten back a few month ago from a 'underground railroads' of sorts out in the americas. It was rather high tension and she had not yet adjusted to being back. But if anyone would make her feel at home it was Xara. So she decided to hunt . . . find her friend and reintroduce herself.
It was clear she was becoming frustrated. Unable to remember which house exactly she was aiming for. Her eyes scanned the streets seathingly.

“The floors are all in place!” Xara explained as she and Azure climbed the hill to her family home. The sun shone brightly into her red locks, which made them glow. She had purchased coffees for them on the way home from a day at the club, organizing and planning and paying bills. Things like that. The club was being handled by other people that evening, freeing her and Azure up to chat and plan about their gang ideas, to catch up and, for Xara, to make amends. She still felt pretty horrible about having tested her friend’s boundaries the way she had before, and upsetting Azure like that was something she never wanted to do again. Although all that was more than overshadowed by the arrival of their long-awaited child, a healthy baby girl named Carmen, who Xara adored.
They must have looked like quite the pair to stranger’s eyes. Xara herself was used to obtaining strange looks. She was tall, for a woman on Earth. Her body had a similar muscular structure to that of humans, though with some mild differences that often struck people as bizarre when they first saw her. Her legs and arms were long in comparison to a human’s-- more ape-like-- but this was balanced out by her long torso and large, angular face. Her skin was a light mocha color, not like the redheads of earth who were normally pale in complexion, and this made her eyes glow even more than they already did against the dark backdrop. Her teeth were that of a cats, small daggers, mostly used for meat eating although she did indulge in some vegetation here and there. Her smile was often intimidating if nothing else because of it. As for scars, her warrior background had left her face relatively clear aside from a gash in one of her ears that left a characteristic ‘V’ shaped hole. Her worst scars stretched across her torso like a web, and she was careful to keep those covered for the sake of the people around her who may feel uncomfortable in her presence. She knew Azure did not mind the scars, and when she was performing she knew that others couldn’t see the scars because of all the other distractions, but after having lived on Earth for so long she had developed a bit of an insecurity about it.
She wondered if Azure ever felt insecure about her appearance. She had always assumed not, since Azure was pretty much perfect in every way, but Xara herself had a sort of exotic beauty to her and even she felt insecure. She nudged her voethe playfully, “So? How are things since Carmen was born? Things between you and Tara haven’t gotten…stale, I trust?” she winked slyly and nudged her friend again. “Carmen is so precious though… I think you and Tara make great mothers. I am so happy for you.” She smiled at Azure fondly, but her attention was jerked toward something…unusual.
Xara’s eyes narrowed. “Good god…” she whispered. It was Castor, and she looked…distant. The woman placed her hand on Azure’s arm and pulled her back. “Don’t make any sudden movements.”
((Hope this was okay ))

Azure felt calm, walking beside Xara as they ventured towards her voethes home, which she shared with her daughter, a teenager by the name of Candy, and her spouse Dylan, who was becoming a pretty well respected doctor in Hobart. “The floors are all in place!” The red-head announced, Azure admiring the way her hair seemed to shine, like fire under the warm glow of the mid-morning sun. Clouds drifted slowly across the sky, creating shadows across the grassy lawns and pavement, offering a coolness, equally as enjoyable for someone with sensitive skin. Azure sipped her coffee, enjoying the warm feeling which seeped down her throat, and into her stomach. They were walking back from the club, after handing it over to two other managers they'd hired to handle the place during any unexpected absences. In times like these, what with baby Carmen, and the possibility of a dark doom cloud hanging over their heads with the uncertainty of whether or not the facility was planning a new strike, they were expecting a few days, maybe weeks of time off. The two friends were once again, working on re-building some amount of trust in their relationship, what after Xara's stunt of "testing" Azure, though deep down the vampiress knew that Xara had meant it in her best interests. "I'm glad!" Azure smiled, some humor in the tone of her voice. "Y'know Tara still wants to apologize for the mess. I recon the hardwood looks so much better though."Things were certainly more relaxing then they were at first. On a day like this, it was easier to pretend that the future wasn't as uncertain as they actually were. Azure smiled at her friend; she felt very fortunate to know her. Perhaps that was why she had forgiven Xara for the stunt she pulled. They'd gone through way too much together to loose one another now. Azure's smiled transformed into that of an amused one as Xara nudged her gently, questioning her about how things were going between herself and Tara now that Carmen was born. “We're fairly lucky, she sleeps about three or four hours at a time. So,"[/i] her grin became wider. "Things are still very un-stale. Her breasts are huge now! Though I liked them the size they were. We've discovered that she does produce milk. We're still unsure of what her species is though.” She added, pursing her lips. It was something that they'd discover eventually. Their little daughter was precious, it was true. Azure hadn't thought too deeply into the thought of having children. It was Tara who had changed her mind. She would have said this too, had it not been for a drastic change in Xara's mood. She suddenly looked cautious, and scared perhaps? Azure followed her friends gaze, and immediately felt her own self tense as she realised that Xara was staring at another woman; a very threatening one at that. A small hiss rose in her throat, “Don’t make any sudden movements.” Xara warned, so Azure stood there, guarded.[/size] [glow=red,2,300] + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

Castor tried hard to concentrate. To keep the world in view but the thoughts began to drag. Coherency vanishing in front of her. As if she had fallen over a waterfall only to be drowned in the icy pits below. Still she clung to what sense she had a string much to thin to save her. The change wasn't very visible at this point. At first glance she looked drunk if not crazy. Crazy probably fit the description better but at least she hand't killed anyone. Yet.
Xara. She was there. Castor closed her eyes and opened them again. Part of her wondering if she was dreaming. It was plausible she had never left america. Opening her eyes a smile started at the corners of her mouth. Still there. . . but who?
Senses beginning to hit overdrive she snarled. Picking up on the hiss easily and like any predatory being she took it as a threat. Narrowing her eyes. She would not be threatened not by the likes of that woman. She advanced with very little effort teeth flashing, hands tense as claws.
She waited tell a few paces separated them and then she leaped. Throwing herself at what she assumed the threat to be. Hoping to pin her adversary with brutish measures that Castor was all too familiar with.
